Have you heard about the Kia Niro PHEV? This is Kia‘s award-winning plug-in hybrid. It was recently honored in the Good Housekeeping 2019 Best New Car Awards in the Hybrid segment. This is such a big honor for Kia since it marks the first Kia vehicle to earn the accolade in this award program. The awards are based on the collaboration between The Good Housekeeping Institute (GHI) and Car and Driver magazine. Together they evaluated this year’s new vehicles and narrowed down to their preferred choices. The vehicles were then rated on design, handling, safety, technology, and value.
GHI noted the Niro has a spacious interior and innovative features that made it stand out. They were especially impressed with the two-zone automatic climate control which allows driver and front-seat passenger to each control their temperature comfort. This system even allows the passenger-side control to be turned off for greater efficiency when there is no passenger. The fact that the Niro PHEV is available in both hybrid and all-electric versions was also a plus. As a hybrid, the impressive Kia Niro PHEV offers a total driving range of up to an estimated 560 miles.
